What are good ideas for mommies first mothers day?
April 14th, 2009Any ideas to make this first Mothers Day memorable for my wife? There is breakfast in bed and going out to the SPA but I want to do something that she will never forget 
get her a mothers ring or a mothers necklace.
how old is your child ? if they are old enough let them give it to her. if they are a little one put the ring on a necklace and put it on the baby or tie it to a string and put it on the crib somewhere that she will notice it. or even tie it around the babys wrist or ankle. I know i would rember my baby giving me a mothers ring, or necklace.

A nice gift would be a charm for her necklace. Either one that says "mom" or James Avery has a beautiful charm of a mom silhouette with a baby in her arms.

Honestly, you could just make sure that YOU handle all the diapers, feedings, etc. throughout the day. Breakfast in bed is a great way to start, make sure she is able to get a nap in if she wants, and if you wanna throw the spa treatment in there as well go for it. Make dinner (even if it is a pizza - she will be happy to be responsibility free).
Just make it a day about her not having to do all her "motherly chores" and tell her that you appreciate all that she does on a daily basis.

A mother's ring or necklace w/ the baby's birthstone.
A clay print of baby's hands/ feet.
Framed birth certificate, hospital mementos, etc of baby to mommy.

This will be my first Mothers' Day. I commend you for thinking about this ahead of time. What I would like would be either a massage or a pedicure and a necklace with some kind of "mommy" charm. It could say "mommy" or it could be a child and a mom. Or it could be her birthstone or something with her name and birthdate engraved. I think that would be very special.

Definetly handle all things to do with the baby on Mother's Day. You can paint your child's hands and feet and press them on a sheet of construction paper. You can also buy a clay kit to make an impression of your childs hand/foot that will last forever. A lovely picture frame holding a pic of mommy and baby is another good idea. A new mom will cherish these gifts.

What about tracing your baby's hand on a mothers day card? Or getting the baby's picture put on a blanket. My husband got me a necklace that is a gold heart with diamonds and a mother holding a baby in the middle for my first mothers day and it means the world to me!
