What party do you favor and what do you think would be an awesome mother’s day gift?
November 6th, 2009In true political fashion, Im trying to get some unique Mothers Day Gift Ideas that are not flowers. I always get my mom flowers and its starting to get boring. Can you help me out? Libs! Dig in! Conservatives whatdayagot? Oh yeah, Can you note the political party you affiliate yourself with too? Im using your answers to decide what party I will support for the next few years. (based on the most unique and creative answers)
I am finally getting my Obama plate to go with my t-shirt that say
yes we can…yes we will…yes we did
march on…………
Not a good way to decide who to support but to each thier own
The rest of us 56% plus ones the President has EARNED as he said he would Nov 4th will continue to support him and vote him again 2012
so truly does not matter who the 43 % votes for does it….
Rosa sat so King could march
King marched so Obama could run
Obama ran so we could fly

Unaffiliated… the lady next door just received on of those fresh fruit bouquets. I would like one.
You could offer to clean her house or yard or wash her car. Take her out to dinner and a movie. If she needs help, pay her electric bill this month.

Independent.
My Mom has been gone for years but I’m sending my wife on a scavenger hunt that takes her to 8 places to get "clues" that will ultimately lead her to the rose garden bench where she will find a diamond tennis bracelet and 2 pounds of Godiva chocolates (which I will get none of lol).
What this has to do with picking a party to support eludes me, but whatever works I guess. Ask yourself this. Is there anything your Mom collects? Still do the flowers because all Moms love flowers, but add in something personal that she would know you put some thought in to.

Your mom would love to spend the day with you.
Go to the zoo, museum, baseball game, or wherever she likes.
Then buy her something cute at the gift shop.
Then go to dinner.
It doesn’t have to be a fancy place.
She just wants some time with her baby.

Hmmm…well here’s somethings off the top of my head, though I am not sure of your budget:
- A picnic or dinner with her or family
- Check your local newspaper & see if you can take out mini article that tallows you to express what you mother means to you. I’m my city in CA the local newspaper is doing that for $10 for 100 words or less.
- Take her shopping and get her a new look (ie: hairdo/color/cut, clothes)
- New brand name purse, some are not as painfully expensive as people think, but requires some searching
- Have The Sweet Adelines sing her a song (I think they go by a different name now)
- Create an album full of baby pix of you, any siblings & her w/ her spouse (if she’s married), from the time you were a baby to the present
- Have your kids sing her a song if you have kids
I know its kind of a hard thing to do at the last minute! Btw, I’m a registered Democrat…good luck!!

Get your Mom a brand new shiny True Blue Conservative in the White House, so that she and everyone else she knows can enjoy the America our forefather’s envisioned for us and bring back the great and prosperous America that generations before us fought and died for.
Both the Dems and Republicans have let us down, but now we see the most evil of all in this piece of excrement Marxist now running the show.
Here’s what you’d get with a True Blue Conservative as President:
1. Set term limits for congress. No more career politicians.
2. Repeal the 16th amendment and pass H.R. 25 and S. 25.
3. End earmarks.
4. Abolish all GSE’s and the Federal Reserve.
5. Get rid of DHS. The FBI and CIA can do the job with the right leadership.
6. Secure the borders, deport illegal aliens, and punish employers of illegal aliens. Or just uphold the law.
7. Repeal the stimulus bill no one bothered to read.
8. Balance the budget.
9. Reinstate the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996, H.R. 3734.
10. Stop all federal funds to states with sanctuary cities.

If you have a wife or significant other, it would be sweet for them to give her a special Thank you card.
What hobbies does your mother enjoy? I’m a gardener so plants for my garden are very special to me. Peonies are low maintenance, pretty, will bloom for many years, and usually bloom this time of year. Most nurseries carry them.
Does your mom plant annuals every year? If so, you could get a hanging basket and a gift card to help her go shopping for her annuals.
I don’t know if your mom likes chocolate but Godiva makes the very best chocolates around. They’re expensive but they are SO good. Me and my friends swoon over Godiva chocolates. They’re THAT good.
Does she have any collections that you could add to? A favorite author who has a new book?
Or for something a little more expensive–a nice digital camera or an external hard drive to put all of her digital photos on?
Do you live out of state? Since I live out of state from my father, someone who lives close to him took photos of him and put them to music and made a DVD for me. That is so special to me. Someday when my dad passes, it will be even more special. If you made DVD’s of her grandkids (if she has any) that would be very special.
When most people are asked what they’d grab in case of a fire, photos is one of the things people list first (after people and pets). So something to do with photos would be nice. If you had more time, I’d suggest having one of these photo books made for her:

Have you thought about a digital photo frame? With pictures of the people that she loves?
Republican–but please don’t judge my party by my gift suggestions.

I’d recommend taking them to enjoy the spectacular performed by Shen Yun Performing Arts: http://www.shenyun.us. It’ll be the best gift that she’ll not forget.
I don’t belong to any political party.
