What is a good kit to get for family photo album or scrapbook for Mothers Day?

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

My wife has said she doesn’t have a good family photo album together. She recently had tons of photos printed, and I want to get her something to get her started on a family photo album for Mothers Day.

Any ideas for specific kits, albums, scrapbook stuff, etc is greatly appreciated. I like to order from Amazon but anywhere is fine really. Please include a link if possible.

THANKS

What should I cook my mom for mothers day?

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

My Mom works on Mothers Day from 6am to 4pm. I was thinking of making her something special and giving it to her when she gets home, what should I cook for her?

That is a wonderful surprise! I use to work and I know I would have liked a gift such as this. My favorite website for recipes is:
http://www.cooks.com/rec/ch/main_dishes.html

Keep reading for more suggestions:

We are now doing the following:

1. At your grocery store, buy the sealed PRE-COOKED meats that come is small packages such as the following. You can make two or three meals out of them:

Beef tips with gravy,
Roast with gravy,
Pork roast,
Chicken,
Baked ham,
Pork chops,
Meatloaf,
etc.

Just heat in your microwave; directions are on the packages. You will find these packages in the cold section (not the freezer). Ask a clerk to help you find these. They are delicious.

Use these for your meat dish with a side dish or two of canned or frozen vegetables, beans, potatoes or sweet potatoes which can all be found on shelves or in the freezer section and they are already cooked.
.
You can now buy bags of different flavors of precooked rice that you put into your microwave for a minute or two. These are on shelves at the grocery store. We like the chicken flavored best of all. Have a clerk help you find them.
.
Real mashed potatoes that come in a bag…add water, butter, milk. Delicious. Read the directions.
.
Jars of all types of sauces for making pastas. On shelves.
.
Boxes of pastas with everything needed inside the boxes. On shelves.
.
Buy top brand cans of stew for each person. Serve with cornbread, crackers, or toast.
.
Soup and a grilled (fried) cheese sandwiches. Go to this video to see how to make a quick grilled cheese sandwich:

.
Omelet with Cheese - Video:

.
You can buy all types of salad greens in large packages now. Buy the ones that have been pre-washed. Add your own dressing which you can buy in bottles.
.
2. The top brands of microwave frozen dinners are very good now. These come in single servings or in family sized bags. Follow directions. Look for the words "No Preservatives" marked on the box or package.
Just add a canned or frozen vegetable as a side dish.

Top brands of dinners that are found on shelves. No fridge needed. Add water, microwave. These are good to take to school or work. Follow directions on the containers.
.
3. Video On How To Cook A Rib Eye Steak on Stove Burner (turn on your sound), click this link:

.
4. Supermarket deli’s have pre roasted chickens, fried chickens, roast beef, and side dishes. You can stop in on the way home and grab a quick dinner to take home. I buy their roasted chicken often…they are delicious.
.
5. Buy a crock pot. You put everything into the pot in the morning, set it on low for 8 hours, and your dinner will be ready for you when you come home in the evening! I kid you not. Be sure to read the instruction booklet.
There is a recipe booklet that comes with the crock pot. You can buy crock pots at places such as your grocery store, Walmart, and etc.

Here are 1,160 crock pot recipes:

DON’T FORGET TO PLUG IT IN! This happens more than you would think. lol

How can I make a long distance mothers day good for my mom?

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

I’m at college and the weekend Mothers Day is on is the weekend I have to study for finals. And I don’t have a lot of money.

Even something as simple as a call (which hardly costs anything) means something to her. She understands you have work to do and there will be many more mothers day! She will love hearing from you and know your thinking of her! =]

Should you buy your ex spouse Birthday or Mothers Day presents for a child who is not old enough to?

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

My ex spouse and I have a three year old who is obviously not old enough to buy presents. Is it looked at as weird or a nice thing to do to buy gifts for your ex spouse on like there Birthday or Mothers Day or Christmas from your child?

I think it’s a nice thing to do on all occasions. When your little one is older they will really love you doing this for their mum.
Really sweet, hope she does the same for you.

Can anyone help my sister and i with a mothers day lasagne?

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

As it is Mothers Day, my sister and i are planning to make my mother a three course meal. We have chosen but neglected to locate a good recipe. Anyone one got any recipes that have gone down well in the past.

Much appreciated

It s May 9th here - - ?
Dang type you a recipe- - !

1 lb (fine) ground beef
(your best spaghetti sauce )

1 tsp basil
1 tbs parsley leaves (coarse chop)
(I use an Italian blend from bulk)
1 large can of tomato sauce ( 2 small mixed with)
1 small can of tomato paste ( you judge)
? ? noodles - lasagna - or egg roll wraps (they are thinner and need no boiling - book says 3 cups ? ? )
Book says 8 oz grated mozzarella cheese - - cottage cheese creamed
many here also include ricotta but any sharp soft can be added (names I don’t Know)
you know how to layer - - sauce pasta sauce your cheese mix pasta etc
top the last pasta with sauce and cheese
assume 9" x 13" x 2" pan suitable for table service - 350º F & 35 min or till bubbly (I like a browned top)

don’t forget you can add most any vegetable - sliced fine to add to the layers - - one with sweet peppers another thin slices of squash
"cooking is an experiment"
Good luck - - I wish you well

What did your kids write in your mothers day card today?

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

My seven year old son wrote:

"My mum is very sweet,
she’s always caring and
on time so I don’t feel like a fool."

LOL - apparently, image is everything to a seven year old!

:)

Happy Mothers Day.

My 25yr son overseas send me a card saying ‘you’re my rock’ and my 20yr daughter at Uni sent me a beautiful moonpig poem and asked me to confirm once and for all if she was the favourite child!

How to make a mothers day card when all I have is basic things like paper and a pencil?

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Its Mothers Day tomorrow and I have been meaning to make my mum a really nice card but I don’t have any special card or anything. All I have is basic paper, pencils and coloured pencils.

I really want this card to be special. Its night so I can’t go to the shop now to get anything to help make it good..

Any suggestions to what I can do? Thanks. Im 13 by the way.

Write a note telling her how special she is and sign it "heart" your name, or if your mother uses a pet name for you, use that.

What can I bake with ready made meringue nest for mothers day?

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

I have about 6 large meringue nests and was hoping this could be some kind of last minute Mothers Day present
they were from a packet, not homemade -_-

Easy! Make a Pavlova! An Aussie invention, it’s a dessert: fill the nests with fresh fruit in season, and top with whipped cream (don’t use that junk out of a spray can!), and drizzle fresh passionfruit or raspberries or something over the top. YUM!
